Pink Floyd wins suit over EMI
According to the BBC, Pink Floyd recently took EMI to court in a suit over digital distribution, namely, that their albums shouldn’t be broken up and sold as individual tracks. Their deal, signed before iTunes, Amazon and other digital retailers had made their mark in the UK, noted that individual songs were not to be sold without the band’s explicit permission, protected by a clause to “preserve the artistic integrity of the albums.”
