This is the one that separates the Dead Heads and the mere followers.
The Grateful Dead have announced a limited new box set chronicling their entire 1972 European tour, the same set of shows that gave us the classic Europe ’72.
The box set, which will be released this fall, will include all 22 shows from the Spring tour on more than 60 CDs remastered by Dead archivist David Lemieux, a coffee-table book, essays, photos and memorabilia. The set is selling for $450, and reservations are being taken at www.dead.net.
The European tour had previously been documented on the original three-LP album Europe ’72, Hundred Year Hall, Steppin’ Out and Rockin’ The Rhein. Now, Dead Heads can revel in the entire swing. The set will be limited to 7,200 copies.
